The volunteers mean a lot to me because they take time off their life to come to see us and spend time with us. The volunteers are special to me because they are the reason I changed my life around. A lot of the volunteers, such as the grandmas and the church people that come, have always been nice to me, even when I would sometimes be a little rude to them sometimes. They would still talk to me and try to help me with my problems. I feel that the volunteers are a gift from God to us because a lot of them have been through what we've been through in our lives. To me, they are a living example that no matter what you've done or how many times you've been to jail, you still can change your life.
Through my time in the Division of Juvenile Justice, I have grown to love the volunteers like my family because when I need someone to talk to, there always was a volunteer to help me. Like Grandma Ameda, when I had given up on God and myself, Grandma Ameda was there to tell me that I am "a somebody" and through the months, she helped me get my faith back. Not just her, but every volunteer. What volunteers do for us is a wonderful thing. I feel like you guys are my guardian angels. Volunteers have helped me become a better person and helped me realize that there is more to life than being in jail.
I thank all of you guys for being there for me and being my second family. You have helped me become a changed man. Thank you for being there for us and for helping us in our steps to rehabilitation.

A volunteer is someone or a group that comes in to share with you the things they went through or help you better yourself to give you knowledge about what they went through to make it this far and to help you change. A volunteer is helpful, blessed, smart, have skills to pass on to help others recognize their downfall, help them to move on, and to make better and smart choices. There are all types of volunteers that show me how to better myself and help me put away my past. That came in on their own good time, like tattoo removal, churches and IMPACT. All these people and others have a heart to show and came in to help lives be better. With tattoo removal, they helped me to get away from my past and help me move on by removing my tattoos and not to look back. Charlie comes in to let me know and others that there's only one God and you must walk by faith to get through life. IMPACT has showed me how to put away childish things and to man up and not run away from your issues. Life is better in your environment then in jail. Volunteers have a strong heart to help and give in and not take away. Without a volunteer, you're lost, because they're the ones we need to take after because they're kind and have a heart to help if we follow. The world would be a better place. A volunteer is strong minded and want to see people stand --- and not fall. When you give some of your time to help, you want to show others there's another way. Your special because you have the heart others don't. Thank you.

You are Appreciated
You don't have to do it You don't have to be there.
You don't have to support me. You don't have to care.
You don't have to be my shoulder when I'm weak emotionally and mentally not strong.
You don't have to give me encouraging words to go on. You don't have to love me.
You don't have to like me. You don't have to come and see me.
You don't have to write me. YOu don't have to keep in touch when I leave the facility.
You don't have to remind me that I have the ability to make it or that freedom is mine and I don't have to let them take it.
These are the things you don't and didn't have to do but these are the things that showed me your love is real and true.
And these are just some of the many reasons why we appreciate you.
